Tap efficiencies
water2business promotes a responsible attitude towards using drinking water with its products and services. Drinking water is precious and its high quality should never be taken for granted.
Warm water accounts for the majority of water saved this way. Therefore the energy consumed to heat water is reduced and businesses can make an important contribution towards protecting the environment.
Existing faucets and taps can easily be retro-fitted with water saving components at any time. There are two principal products that we recommend to our customers: aerators and atomisers.
Atomisers are special aerators with a minimal flow rate. The atomisation is achieved by dispersing the water into tiny droplets. By contrast with the very small amount of water used, the wetted surface is large.
Aerators are found in nearly all kitchen and lavatory faucets. An aerator is a key component in the overall performance of the faucet. Aerators should:
- control the stream straightness and diameter
- reduce splash by aerating the stream and eliminating side spray
- save water and reduce energy costs
- meet local plumbing codes and standards
By introducing water efficient products and practices to your business, you're not only looking after the environment but the reduction in water use is also likely to have a positive impact on your water bills too.
Did you know
Taps can contribute up to a third of water use in the office. Outlet devices, such as sprays and aerators, fitted to taps can reduce water use by up to 80%. Water saving components have been developed for single lever mixer taps, which default to water saving positions that have to be overridden to get stronger flows. For commercial or municipal washrooms, electronic sensor taps and timed turn-off push taps prevent wastage and flooding from taps being left running, provided they are well maintained.
Water saving devices
Investing in water saving devices can cut your business' water use dramatically - one device could lower it by as much as 98%! Find out about the devices we would recommend if you want to cut your water consumption - and your water bills too.
