Hungry for change - The Sustainable Restaurant Association
We pride ourselves on providing our customers with three key benefits:
Service, Savings and Sustainability
The first two can easily resonate with everyone right? Who doesn't like great service and cheaper bills? However, the importance of sustainability for large and small companies alike can quite often go under the radar. In fact, being a sustainable business is a key way to create savings to your bottom line. It also gives you that proud feeling of becoming environmentally responsible and reducing your carbon footprint- It's a win win really.
Sustainable restaurant association For those of you that work in the food industry, wouldn't it be great if there was a dedicated community set up to encourage, advise and support you with your sustainably goals? Well, there is and we are extremely proud to be part of it!
The Sustainable Restaurant Association (SRA) is an ever expanding community of restaurants, cafes and coffee shops (or anywhere you can pick up a slice of cake) along with suppliers and diners who have a collective goal of creating a sustainable foodservice industry. The SRA works relentlessly to bring people together from across the food industry to run campaigns and raise awareness of the importance of being environmentally friendly has on businesses and the customers who frequent them.
We have already seen great change in the food and drink industry with many famous brands taking the next step in sustainability and efficiency. Boston Tea Party, which has 22 cafes across the South West and Midlands, has been working with water2business to explore ways water is used to further enhance its sustainability values while at the same time reducing operational costs. They have also taken the step of removing all takeaway cups from their stores and providing customers the opportunity to buy reusable cups instead.
Shelley Wadey, Finance Director at Boston Tea Party, said: "We know that with the current plastics debate, caring for the environment is something that is close at the heart of our customers.
"Customers visiting our cafés will have the comfort of knowing that we truly do everything we can to operate as a sustainable business."
water2business has been working incredibly hard on finding solutions that don't just fix inefficiency issues that may exist within the food and drink sector, but actually show a future reduction in water reduction across individual or multiple sites.
We are proud to have recently launched our brand new 'assist' scheme providing a number of services, products and advice that can support businesses with their sustainability goals and help to receive buy in from their staff. From automated meter reading (AMR) to water audits, we are dedicated to supporting our customer base and are looking forward to supporting other members of the SRA community in reaching their goal of helping the food industry lead the way into a more sustainable future.
Our Head of Account Management, Kim Trowbridge, said: "It's fantastic to be part of such an innovative and forward-thinking group. Our own Sustainability, Service and Savings agenda fits perfectly with the SRA so I am looking forward to exploring how water2business can use its knowledge and expertise to add some real value for members.
"I am sure working alongside such a varied and lively membership body will provide opportunity for direct feedback which will help us all grow."
